I used to be a huge Newgrounds lurker and I don't recall any games I found on there that I would enjoy playing today. I mean, Stick RPG is one of the posterchildren of Newgrounds games and even back then I only felt obligated to like it because of it's apparent popularity.

I remember there having been some kind of sidescrolling shooter game with those grey dudes without faces. That was highly modable and had tons upon tons of weapons and mods.
I legitimately enjoyed that game and still would. If only it wouldn't be such a broken mess at the very least. But the foundation was real solid.

I remember I was at a friends house and amongst the autistic excitement I had from a sleepover I finally mustered the courage to try one of those Flash strip games on Newgrounds. My boner was of epic proportions. But I have literally never been turned on by one of those since.
Sometimes I feel like I would have been better off without newgrounds.
Newgrounds is kind of what happens when you introduce easy means to be creative, to people who may not have ever had gotten the means and or time to actually become good at a craft.
Essentially inflating their ego, while making them both productive, and receiving feedback for better or worse.
But this gives the sense that it's legitimate. Because for all intents and purposes it technically is.
However, you still know that your shit is inferior the crafts of actual in the industry and elsewhere who devoted themselves to their craft over making flash stuff on newgrounds. But unlike them, you at the very least do have newgrounds.
And no matter if you are at the forefront or just somewhere along the way, you were still part of this new "movement" or whatever you would call it. Since easy animation/game production of this kind had never before existed in history. Making you feel special in spite of your shit being inferior.
You would imagine that having a platform allowing you to be as creative as newgrounds allowed would promote talent. But in retrospect I highly doubt that it does even though I argued against what felt like the entire offline world that it was the case back in the day.
At this moment, I am pretty sure I would have been far, far more successful had I drawn more for my art class and less for my newgrounds shit. Especially what with how I occasionally essentially retreated to my newground shit whenever hardships related to art class jaded me. As opposed to facing it head on.
It's really depressing to look back and realize what a pussy I was, even though my ego was bigger than ever. Feeling special on newgrounds.
And I have a feeling that quite a few people had a similar relation to newgrounds.
