I only half agree. Undertale never really hit any "feels" notes, though it did manage to get me hyped up during the turning points on certain boss fights, and the true lab was suitably freaky. It had a lot of resentments for humanity for some reason and elaborate a plan with Asriel where they'd poison themselves, then let Asriel absorb their SOUL and use its power to go collect six more from the surface.
However, its true intention was to absorb seven souls not to destroy the barrier and free the monsters, but to just outright end existence altogether.
And he'd have succeeded if Asriel didn't chicken out at the last second and decide it did not want to kill anyone. As Asriel said, they both had control over their new form, and Asriel refusing the fight back against the humans caused them to take heavy injuries and eventually die after making it back underground.

Also, Frisk and Chara's souls share the same color, Frisk experiences one of Chara's memories in Waterfall, Flowey's recognition of Chara even in a Pacifist run, humans souls can persist after death, and the sudden and mysterious appearance of Frisk after hundreds of Flowey's loops implies that Frisk's soul might be the same soul or reincarnation of Chara.

All SOULs can produce determination, but humans produce it in much larger, consistent quantities. Determination is produced simply by being determined.
