I've replaying both System Shocks lately and I've realized how much I love unusual weapons, like the "Exotic" ones from 2.
Besides obvious choices like the original Half-Life and Opposing Force, what are some FPS with unusual weapons? Any games with blow dart guns or nail guns?

The crossbow in timesplitters 2 was pretty fun - hold it up to a torch and you have flaming bolts. That and the most satisfying shot sound in history

I hate that every fps these days has a pistol, shotgun, smg, assault rifle, sniper rifle, rocket launcher and maybe, if we are lucky, one unique gun. Even if its scifi or a setting were they can go wild.

Painkiller and Bulletstorm have similar concepts going on with their weapons and I love them. Essentially the alt fires can sometimes be wildly different from the primary fire, but rather than being 'unfitting' they work great in conjunction with the primary. Like a shotgun that can freeze shit or a rocket launcher chaingun.
Bulletstorm's are less weird but this thing was my favorite. You could do a ton of shit with it since you could shoot the drills or use it as a melee weapon.

If you like melee drills, you should check Bioshock 2. It has also an harpoon gun which can shoot explosive ones; quite a delight to watch, since it carries enemies all around the screen until they explode.
