DS2 is great. I recently took a long break from it and came back for scholar, and I must say that while it's not perfect I find myself losing hours in hte world of Drangleic. The smooth multiplayer functionality is really great also.

Best feels is probably when I end up helping someone that I killed in an invasion. This happened a lot in DS1, probably because connections were fewer to come by.
Music is pretty hard. While Bell Gargoyles is probably my favorite track, the Ruin Sentinels/Smelter Demon music is also really good. There are so many good tracks. From what I've heard Bloodborne has amazing tracks as well, haven't tried it yet.
Locations, you know I just finished Mirror Knight again and that spot right before the boss and the boss arena with the rain and lightning is probably one of the best spots. I wish they could have done the rain and lightning for Artorias in DS1.
I don't really have a favorite build. One thing I do a lot is have a melee character with a small amount of int investment for utility spells like cast light and fall control. I also really enjoy my full dragon builds.

The modding community for Souls games has been limited to mostly fixing issues, improving the game graphically and improving frame rate. There are also mods to help with online interactions like playing with friends and avoiding cheaters in pvp.
While there are some aesthetic mods they've been mostly texture swaps, nothing like Skyrim's level of modding and adding content.

I really loved the atmosphere in The Gutter. There's just something about being in almost complete darkness and relying on a torch that keeps drawing me back. Have yet to try PvP in there, but I'm sure it would be fun as fuck with something long range.
Why has Dark Souls successfully captured so many emotions from me while almost all other modern games just fall flat?
