That game feels like they threw some shit together from a concept and left it in a debug state with placeholders all over the place.
That game is so fucking shit, just try and play it, all the nostalgia anyone might have for it will disappear in the first 2 minutes when you will be cursing the living shit out of that camera and wish for everyone who made it to die from aids.
Spyro 2 and 3 are COMPLETELY different games from the first one, they have nothing in common except for the design and basic controls.
The difference is like night and day.

This is absolutely wrong. Sure 1 had worse controls and camera but the world, enemies and the simplicity made it a much better game.
Spyro 2 had a lot of characters no one gave a shit about and annoying as fuck minigames.

I've never been pissed off at Spyro 1, it was the comfiest experienced.
Spyro 2 throws annoying shit at you all the time. I enjoyed it far less. And I finished the trilogy again this summer.

Well, I replayed the trilogy last summer, so my memory of it is fresh too. That treetop stage in 1 practically qualifies as a minigame in its own right, and I disagree about the minigames being annoying in 2. I mean, the trolley thing for example is just a joke, right? No one can actually consider that hard.

I'm sorry, but the objective truth is 2=3>1.
All 3 games have atmosphere and good music, but 2 and 3 improved on gameplay. People on /v/ sperg out about 3 on it's additional characters, while conveniently forgetting about the skateboarding, which balances it out.
Spyro 1 fags are the worst. I don't dislike the game, it has amazing atmosphere, but gameplay wise it's just the early game getting on its feet.

Year of the Dragon had annoying missions, sure, but they didn't feel as frequent as 2's.
Funnily enough, i think some races in 3 were impossible the first time, forcing you to lose for the invisible difficulty to go down. I think the last Speedway race was like that, raced perfect twice and lost the first time
