So it's been a while since I lurked /v/, but when I was still a newfag I remember everyone saying how good Planescape: Torment was and how I needed to play it. After leaving this place and several years later, I figured it was about time to make good with my promise and finally play it and you guys weren't kidding, what a great fucking game.
The engine's obviously aged like old milk so the gameplay leaves much to be desired, but the story, the worldbuilding and all the depth left me amazed at how one development team could pull off writing all this shit, pay attention to all the details and then some.
Maybe I've been gone from this place for too long, but i'm sure some of you yabbos have been in this place long enough to share your thoughts.

aren't they making a new torment game? do you guys think it'll be any good?

Planescape's actually a pretty straightforward campaign setting, while I do recommend learning it to be more immersed in the world, you don't have to since most of the npcs make it a point to shvoe it down your throat sometimes.
Another good tip is to avoid npc dialogues that are much of the same that you already learned elsewhere, its only rarely helpful.

Made by the same chucklefucks that developed Wasteland 2, take a guess.

Apparently Avellone has a hand in the design of the game, although it's not under his direct lead so who knows. If i play it i'm definitely gonna miss the Planescape setting since its such a unique and evolving world, but if the writing is up there then the story will deliver the setting of Numenera just as well.
