Bought this game off the Steam sale and I have to say, it's really great. It's definitely progressive, female main character, story driven, young, the world contains diversity. It's modernized, not made by some old white guy who started programming in the 80's and is also doing the designing and writing. The school feels real, the music feels real, it fits. The way characters are dressed, their attitudes, the way they talk.
This is a forward thinking game that doesn't rely on space marine esque ultra violence and gore. Between this and Undertale, I have to say, games are moving forward. I think there will always be a place for the violent games, but these should be popular, too.

I know you're being sarcastic but as of now, in the middle of the second episode, I really like it too. I mean, it's nothing special but the characters are well rounded, the artstyle looks nice, the story is engaging and I like the cutesy guitar pop soundtrack.

That is progressive, it's more inclusive to a large demographic of players. There are hardly any games that actually have legitimate female leads. Are we really going to pretend gaming isn't focused on males? Even if it isn't a bad thing, that's what gaming is, it's male dominated when it comes to lead characters.

Most of them that made great games in the 90's and early 00's have been putting out blunders these past ten years. Guys like Carmack, Romero, Warren Spector, all talented guys with great games under their belts, but they haven't produced anything of value in a long time and release crap.

Again, most games consist of violence and extreme masculinity. The top 2 contenders for GOTY are The Witcher 3 and MGS V, look at the protags. Compare them to LiS in terms of lead characters.. day and night difference.
