and that was fine for 2004 the problem is that the community became min-maxing for dungeons and raids, because they saw the min-maxing people on the top guilds and they wanted to be strong and have good gear too, it was an inevitable path
new games have this appeal to me that the metagame is a complete mess and you can get away with the most ridiculous shit, but unfortunately that only lasts for a while (same thing happened with League of Legends for me, the first year or so was way more fun than the rest for me because I could go 1v2 as Mordekaiser or Garen and wreck shit)
regardless, you still get passives along the way, and since there were plenty of +1% parry talents in WoW, I can say I prefer the newer system of getting something that isn't completely irrelevant every 2~5 levels

dual spec on release was not viable for leveling because of the cost, what it did was allow people to have an offspec and fill in raids more easily and more cheaply (in the long run)

In wow, the chance on hit thing essentially means once every X seconds.
Your intial chance to summon would be like 60%, then it activates a hidden CD, then it returns to 60% immediately afterwards. You'll always summon an army when you first start attacking.

The new combat had me pretty psyched.
All these new rogue talents really have me on the fence. They all seem very gimmicky and the reason why they removed talents in the first place.
Now we have
-'simplified' talents,
-glyphs,
-gems,
-artifact specs,
-pvp talents.
They should have just sticked with talent trees
So based on these (subject to change) talent trees, BESIDES Druid and DK which class looks like it could join my solo trifecta? I need an unstoppable demigod for old content and 5 mans possibly.

There are still two perfectly ranged specs left for the hunter, and yes, a lot of people have wanted a melee hunter spec. Regardless of wether you like it or not, lots of people want it.
