>>
we get two sale day. Black Friday and Boxing Day.
>>
>>318028730

the process is long.

We aren't taking refugees straight from Syria like Europe is. We're taking existing refugees from camps n Lebanon, Turkey and Jordan.

As part of the process, everyone is getting health and background screenings first, which will likely backlog the shit out of the system and hopefully slow it down.

I mean, they started the process a month ago and have only issued 928 visas thus far, and they want to get 10,000 in within the next month? Not happening.
>>

I'm glad that I keep so far behind the curve on new games. I'm still catching up on games from 2011, playing on my low end PC. Get games dirt cheap from Steam, have a good time and don't have to spend a lot of money. I find old games more fun anyway. Currently playing a game from 2000.

Oil prices went down. It was the only thing keeping Canada afloat. After the US invaded Iraq, the oil prices went up which benefited us greatly. However, now, the prices have lowered, so the Canadian economy is doing horribly without Alberta helping. A lot of people went to Alberta to get on the oil hype money train and now a lot of people are getting fired or are losing their jobs. Cuts everywhere, it's horrible.

So the oil rush is over for the next decade then?
>>
>>318033683
kind of stupid we didn't have to foresight to see this

oilsands were marginally profitable, mostly cause of subsidies that harper was banking on it becoming a lot less expensive to refine

but then opec came in and the bubble burst

You might have Sanders?

>kuckold

Yeah, definitely. Better than being a dumbass blowhard or a corporate whore though.
>>
>>318033751
Most likely. Things were looking good from what I heard from Alberta. Them paying off their taxes, oil companies paying for housing and everything, tax cuts for everyone with the surplus money, Alberta getting political benefits from Harper, etc.
Right now, apparently, oil companies are refusing to lower the price of oil to what it should be and the government is reinforcing oil taxes which is why the oil prices at the pump is still within the 1.20$ when it should be at the 1$ or less price. If the prices corrected itself, Canada might be doing worse off financially.

>>318033943
>implying you don't want to see Trump win
I want to see Trudeau and Trump together in a single picture.
Meme Canadian president with meme murrican president.

>>318033792
A lot of people saw it coming and knew it was an oil bubble keeping Canada afloat. The thing is that no one knew when it would burst and it really came out of complete nowhere.
But, you know, everyone always assumes that an economic growth bubble will always
>>

Harper would also sign TPP without issue and keep pushing for government surveillance.
>>

No one gives a fuck about Quebec. The truth about Quebec is that we all pretend to be angry but we're not. Quebec is complete tsundere and we all know it. And I know it's true because when Pauline was PM and some faggot tried to assassinate her, everyone went batshit crazy on whether this false hatred of disliking english and the english disliking french would break down.
It's like a love-hate relationship where one couple actually punch the other and everyone is freaking out that the illusion wasn't well maintained. I love Quebec but it's really full of hypocrites. It's really sad that no one outside of Quebec understands it and no one inside of Quebec really realizes how much of a hypocrite the province really is.

>No one gives a fuck about Quebec
No one gives a fuck *in* Quebec, both for francophone and anglophones.

Aside from oil what else is there from Canada? Lumber? Wheat? It's really too bad there's no mass manufacturing going on, but even that isn't going to help in the long term when competing against the wave of cheap imports into the country.

The government is going to be relying on that green tax they're going to introduce to keep afloat.
>>
>>318034226
kinda like our drama teacher PM. There was a massive smear campaign in the media against harper for no reason that swayed the useful idiot. He was trash but he was the least shitty of the three.

He was relying on private sponsorship. But that didn't work out to meet the quota he set for himself so they went with government sponsorship to meet the 500? 1000? before he mentioned 10k.

Trudeau might do the middle ground and still just tax the rich and companies without caring if they leave or not.

At the post secondary level maybe but not in high school.

One of the things you should also keep in mind is that Canadian colleges and universities get a lot of teachers from the US who come here because they can't teach basic things like the history of Christianity in a history course because it's blasphemous. America History courses are also much more interesting when the focus isn't 100% on how everything the US did was awesome and how great freedom is. I had a prof who was from the US and wanted to teach a course about the Vietnam war with 50% of the focus being on the Vietnamese perspective but they wouldn't allow it in the US so he moved to Canada.

Most definitely in middle school and high school. Even in elementary school up to a point but that wasn't really part of the education, just teachers all being very liberal and inserting their shit everywhere.
