What do you think of No Man's Sky?
I think it's not out yet.
>>318020931
I think absolutely nothing of it. It's not out yet. I don't think it will be that cool. Yet another sandbox. Wooooooooooo who gives a shit?
>>318020931
You mean No Man's Buy?
Dont care about it anymore. That release date announcement just sapped what was left of my hype.
>>318020931
What the fuck happened. This was hyped ages ago then suddenly I forgot this was being released.

I meant like, what are your thoughts on the game concept as a whole?
I feel like I would get bored easily. It's sad but thats just how i feel about it. The chance of meeting another player is so astronomically low that I think i would just get bored
Im incredibly impressed at the game's scope, though. the planets have realistic surface areas n shit
>>318020931
I'm pretty excited for it.
Seems boring. Exploration open world games are shit.
Seems pretty, but dull. Or pretty dull if you may.
>>318022351
>>318020931
>1.8×10^19 planets is advertised as a feature
>people will unironically take that as a positive
Its literally going to be a "comfy simulator". Your goal is to get to the galaxy center, you can do this however you please, at your own pace, or not do it at all, while taking in beautiful environments. I'm excited
>>318022465
>things in the game are being reported as being in the game
what a surprise
Its good, but how are we going to get past the wall of all the planets and creatures being named "ur mum lol" by a bunch of kids?
>>318023078
the chance that you will ever find a planet named by another player is so astronomically low that I wouldn't even worry about it.
I just wish there would be a system to find your friends in game and venture. And make a planet your "home" with an unlimited building system
>>318022493
Exactly! Love comfy games
>>318022336
shit concept. No one wants a chimpped walking simulator.
>>318023363
Ugh, go back to your "Hey do objectives on this liear path that will grant you no optional objectives" games
>>318023541
>ugh
tumblr pls
>>318023659
>ugh

>>318023541
I'd rather have linear corridors with actual gameplay and objectives rather than aimlessly wandering through 50 variants of the same planet with a different paint job, zapping some strange.. blocks? for resources.
Daily reminder that you can't die from fall damage in NMS so exploration isn't really even a thing.
>>318023908
You're exactly like the stereo typical depiction of a Gamer who wants everything to be the same.
>"I want a linear story so that I cant make a change based on my decisions!"
>"Every game is new and different and totally doesn't have the same qualities like other games!"
>"Corridors are a game developers best friend! despite what the media thinks! I love it!"
>"an open world to explore and make my own decisions? wow how unoriginal!"
>"A game where I get to chose who lives or dies? this game is unfinished! only the developers can do that!"
>>318023541
>Linear games are bad
>Optional objectives are good
>Randomly generated no objective games are the best
Shit taste right here.
>>318024362
There are objectives, you can do them if you want, Idiot.
Zero hype. Unless theres some major part of the game they have not mentioned yet than I highly doubt Ill get it.
>>318024431
Please name them.
>>318024747
1. discover new species
2. upload and share them to a data base
3. Create new and better technologies
4. discover ruins of old civilisations
5. Join a war
6. get to the galaxy core to get the answer why you are here
That enough for you? or are you going to be that dick who is just going to ask for more?

DUDE
>>318024327
Normies want pseudo open world horse shit like Twitcher 3, FO4, FarCry, AssCreed, GTA, whatever the fuck.
>>318025392
>because literally nobody on 4chan /v/ likes open world games
GG
shallow and underwhelming also not out for another 6 months
>>318025169
You named a grand total of one objective, the rest are "things you can do".
>>318025276
What are you even doing
>>318025567
I'M being retarded, help me
>>318025475
No one said that, I said this is what normies want. 4chan is normie central these days.
>>318020931
Spore, Minecraft, and Elite with oversatured colors, minus any of the good parts of any of those.
My hype faded when they announced june 2016 release date. Also they said a lot of things but never showed them. We have no idea at all about how commerce and economy are implemented, how factions works or if there are other races in the universe other than huge dinosaurs and goats. I really wish it'll be the x series killer but they keep delaying the project
It could either end up great, or as a game that gets boring after 2 hours.
We all know the game is fucking huge, but is it fun to play? We all know it's about getting to the center, but is that challenging to do?
It could be an awesome rogue-like-like-light game, where you scramble to get resources and keep hoping to find a big score on the next planet so you can sneak past the enemy spaceships blocking your way while time is ticking down... or it could be without any real goals, an endless series of you landing on a planet you've seen 16 times before only in slightly different colors, you pick up the same old resources as you've done on the last planets and then you fly on to the next and do the same thing again.
>>318022336
>chance of meeting another player is so astronomically low
Is there a chance at all? I remember hearing that the only way to see another player, is to invite a friend to your instance.
>>318025771
they're releasing on console as well do you really expect it to be some kind of deep complex space sim?
>>318026345
>Is there a chance at all
Sure man, it's #playersOnline / 1.8×10^19 * (viewDistance / planetSurface)
:^)
I look forward to having everything being named Penis
>>318026989
Don't forget Uranus
>>318026345
They've said you can't play with anyone at all. You'll only see the way theh've affected a planet if they got there first.
Personally I'm considering taking then "destroy what I see" approach and fucking up the universe if I can.
Can we blow up planets? Is that a thing?
>>318027053
No one would be so immature as to name a planet Uranus
>>318020931
No idea
Haven't played it
But it will probably lose its flavor after a couple planets
>>318022435

What's the matter anon, don't you find Nature beautiful?
>>318020931
I am starting to doubt it's existence
I fear it will be another Starbound
It sounds like one of those things were the devs invent a great engine and decide to try to make a game out of it.
It probably will be impressive, but not much fun to play.
I'm going to play it. I need my space fix one way or the other, and being able to visit some nice looking planets in the process is just gravy.
I'm mildy levels of hyped, because Hello Games aren't making any false promises, it's just a game with not much to do. But I play it for the exploring.
Hate it
>>318020931
Indie trash, shilled by a then dying Sony
that game would get zero attention by Sony today
>>318020931
When the fuck is this game supposed to come out, anyway?
It'll be another explore and dig game. Doesn't look like they've been able to come up with anything to do.
>YOU CAN SHOOT THINGS
why?
>uh...we aren't discussing that right now.
>>318022435
>Using the uncompelte version
Step up your game.
>>318034728
>Look at me, I'm imagining a discussion with the devs and look how pathetic they are in my head !
Sure thing champ
>>318020931
Don't think about it OP, for the love of god, if I have any advice to give, it's "don't enjoy or trust games before you/others play them".
Empty promises, man.
Never forget Starbound, anon.
>>318034541
Next summer, apparently.
It will be either greatest flop or greatest game of the history.
A million bajillion gorillion possibilities. And no gameplay.
>>318029957
Meh, Starbound definitely gets better as updates go. Still not iGOTY material, but fun enough to invest at least 15/20 hours in it
