If you cheat and pump your attack to absurd levels you can kill the amalgamates, but I'm pretty sure the fights just end as normal. With debug mode you can do some odd stuff like sparing Asriel as well, but the game doesn't handle some of the fights ending in unintended ways very well.

Here's what I think, in the hard mode, sans never made the promise to Toriel so he tries to kill you first and theme that might play when you fight sans gets used. Then where you usually fight sans in the genocide run you fight papyrus instead and he's using his full potential. Burgerpants is a boss too right before Mettaton EX.

I dl this game yesterday, already did my first run, the story and characters and all that shit people loved about this game is not that great. I really hope the pacifist and the genocide run will add some depht to the story, ost is the only thing that has lived up to the hype.
The battle system is cool, and it's a great addition to an rpg.
I didn't enjoy Flowey's as a final boss. It screamed scripted battle from the start.
