When you reach them your character pulls out a card with the exact same symbols on them, aligned in the correct order, with the number of times you must ring the bells clearly stated on the card. It's not a puzzle, it's not even a challenge, it's a sentience test. Chimps have been performing these tasks for centuries in experiments. Sliding puzzles are the reason I never finished the neverhood and the reason I quit games in general.
As an extra "fuck you", you usually know exactly what it's supposed to look like but still need to slide the squares into place

Puzzles with a memory component. Dyspraxia means I have a shit memory for this kind of thing.
This one was especially bad as I couldn't even take notes for it. Ended up taping some paper to my monitor to record the keys.

I don't know why people suffer with slide puzzles. I remember that game had puzzle with a mouse that you had to lead through doors, I finished the game and after some time my friend asked me to help with it and I didn't do it. Couple of months earlier from today I figured out that you had to look at mouses nose.
