Then the other day, a new student, originally from Iran, transfers to my school. He can't speak my language but is pretty fluent in english. Bearded, high-pony tail.
So one cold morning, I forgot my smokes home. I see this guy having a puff and go on and bum him a cigarette.

We start talking shop, he's a really nice guy.
He tells me he's a bartender at a local bar - I begin to frequent that bar with friends - I eat lunch with him and is now one of "the guys".
Nicest fucking dude I have ever known - would push you out of the way of a car and let it hit him if it came down to it.

Soon enough, he goes to the cash register and pulls out a fucking knife. Cashier had a gun under the table though, so he ran.
I've realized that, sometimes judging a person by their looks is right - based on their appearance you can sometimes learn hints to who they are. From something as obvious as wearing a cross or sagged pants to something a bit more subtle like clean shoes and fitting jeans. That doesn't mean you're always right - I certainly don't dress like a guy who actively listens to death metal. So like words, appearances too can be deceiving.
