Oh shit nigger, it's that time again. We're gonna play the incredibly complex and astounding game of politics in the United States.
Last time, we tried leading Donald Trump to be the new US President and we got stumped by Hillary Clinton.
Clearly, Trump isn't enough to save us. This time, we're gonna create our OWN politician to become the new President. Let's get this shit started.
Once again, Normal difficulty (despite the fact it defaults to Easy), normal funds and the shortest length, 21 weeks.
Here it is, the custom character creator. We're about to make our dream politician here. Let's start by deciding his first and last name.

Well, alright, considering there are two other posts that want this and considering I also like it. "Senator Armstrong" it is.
What do you think of his appearance? There aren't that many options in the editor, but I think I did good old Armstrong justice.
>>317909471
Sure

You best be switching that party affiliation over to republican.

>>317909703
>>317909939
Of course not. I have changed his stance to Republican and his Home State to Texas to fit in the real Armstrong.
Now is the time for us to decide his statistics. I am gonna give a short explanation for them, THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT, so read carefully:
>Stamina
This determines how many STAMINA POINTS your candidate has, allowing for more actions per turn
>Money
This determines your candidate's INITIAL FUNDS
>Fund Raising Ability
This determines how much money your candidate brings in when FUNDRAISING
>Charisma
Charisma increases the effectiveness of SPEECHES and ADS
>Appearance
Appearance increases the effectiveness of INTERVIEW appearances
>Credibility
Credibility increases the effectiveness of your NEGATIVE ADS, and decreases the effects of NEGATIVE ADS your opponent makes
>Experience
Experience makes it easier to win ENDORSEMENTS by decreasing their POLITICAL CAPITAL cost
>Intelligence
Intelligence increases the responses available during an INTERVIEW
>Media Bias
This issue determines how much the press likes your candidate which can sway independent voters
>Minority Appeal
Minority Appeal increases the amount of AWARENESS generated by Campaign HQ's in areas with a large minority demographic
>Religious
Religious Appeal increases the amount of AWARENESS generated by Campaign HQ's in areas with large religious demographics
So here's how this works. You give all of the above statistics a number between 1 and 5, where they represent the following:
1) Useless, do not put any points into this
2) Eh, put some
3) He should be okay at this
4) He's good at this
5) Extremely important, put as much as you can on him
>>317910743
Stamina: 5
Money: 3
Fund Raising Ability: 4
Charisma: 5
Appearance: 2
Credibility: 5
Experience: 2
Intelligence: 5
Media Bias: 5
Minority Appeal: 1
Religious: 3
>>317910743
Give him lots of Stamina, Fund Raising, Charisma, Credibility and Experience
I don't care about the rest
>>317910743
Max out Charisma
>>317910743
Was Armstrong actually from Texas or did he just go to school there? Because he was the senator for Colorado, which means he had to have residence there.
>>317910743

Fund Raising Ability: 3
Charisma: 5
Appearance: 5
Credibility: 5

>>317911126
I don't know, the MGR wiki said he was born in Texas, so I assumed he was from there. But if he was a senator from Colorado, then maybe I should move his Home State to Colorado. I believe that's where the player starts in the game.
>>317910743
Charisma and Credibility are a must, which means we must have lots of money and fund raising too

In Trump vs Hillary the numbers were different. Are they random?
Alright, the first turn begins.
Hillary went to Commiefornia and built an Outreach center there, then she went to Texas, our territory, and built a Campaign Headquarters there just to spite us.
She now earns 20k dollars and 1 PR Clout a week. She only needs 8 .
Meanwhile, we're starting in Colorado, we have a HQ there which gives us 10k a week. As you can see we are winning here 48 to 41
We have 3,500,000 dollars and 15 Stamina.
A few questions to decide our moves on the first week
1) Do we upgrade our HQ to give us more money? It costs 500k and 4 Stamina but it will give us more money in the long run
2) What state(s) do we start fighting for?
3) And how? Ads? (Cost only 3 stamina but are costly in money, take some time to get going, can be state-wide or country-wide) Speech? (Costs no money, costs 5 Stamina though)
4) Do we build more HQ's this week? If so, how many? We can build Campaign Headquarters (Give 10k dollars per week), Consulting Offices (Give us 1 Political Capital per week, which can be used to gain special operatives to help us out) or Outreach Centers (Give us 1 PR Clout per week, which can be used to gain endorsements that help our popularity nation-wide)
Make your move, /v/
>>317915314
upgrade HQ and hold a speech
>>317915314

>>317915314

>2) What state(s) do we start fighting for?
I dunno how American elections work, Florida?
>3) And how? Ads? (Cost only 3 stamina but are costly in money, take some time to get going, can be state-wide or country-wide) Speech? (Costs no money, costs 5 Stamina though)

>4) Do we build more HQ's this week? If so, how many? An Outreach center
This is pretty important for strategy so I'm showing it.
The brighter the state, the more valuable it is to win
>>317915314
Upgrade HQ
Build OC
Do some ads, or a speech if making an OC doesn't cost any stamina?
And these are the richest states. Important if you ever want to fundraise. A rich state that is on your side = A way bigger payout
Anyone have the second trump thread?

Let's go to Texas.
On to the next turn. Hillary went to Ohio and built an Outreach Center, then she went to Texas and built an Election Headquarter there and upgraded it, that fucking bitch. Texas is still on our grasp, winning 47 to 41, but Hillary is clearly making a move for it.
She's earning 40k dollars and 2 PR clout per week. Clearly playing the long game. Meanwhile we're earning 30K and 1 PR clout per week.
Now, onto some questions for our actions this turn.
1) Do we upgrade our Outreach Center here in Florida to to give us more PR Clout? It costs 500k but it would give us 3 awareness instead of 1, putting us in the lead against Hillary PR wise.
2) Are we done in Florida? Should we start fighting in other states? If so, which ones?
3) How do we keep the fight going? Speeches or Ads?
4) It's also worth noting there is a Political Opportunity in Montana (44 42 our side), landing on that space this turn will lead to an event which may be positive or negative for us. Do we risk it?

>2) Are we done in Florida? Should we start fighting in other states? If so, which ones?
I'd say yes, go take that bitch out from our turf
>3) How do we keep the fight going? Speeches or Ads?
For now speeches, keep the ads for when we are done building our infrastructure
>4) It's also worth noting there is a Political Opportunity in Montana (44 42 our side), landing on that space this turn will lead to an event which may be positive or negative for us. Do we risk it?

We built an HQ there.

Well then, that was disastrous. Live and Learn, I guess. See it on the bright side: This challenge will make the victory sweeter. Texas is still in our grasp, they don't give a fuck.
As for Hillary, she made an Ad in Montana and built a HQ in Pennsylvania. She's now at 50K dollars and 2 PR Clout per week. Whereas we are at 40K dollars and 3 PR Clout per week.
Let's strategize for this turn, with the usual questions.
1) Do we upgrade our HQ to give us more money? It costs 500k and 4 Stamina but it will give us more money in the long run
2) Are we done in Texas or do we keep the fight going here? If we're done, which state(s) do we concentrate on?
3) And how do we fight? Speeches, Ads?
4) Any more Base Building? We still don't have a Consulting Office, that might be useful.
>>317919650
1) Upgrade.
2) Go out of Texas. Focus on Ohio or other key swing states.
3) SPEECH
4) No idea what stats which building give, but go for the office.
>>317919650
>1) Do we upgrade our HQ to give us more money? It costs 500k and 4 Stamina but it will give us more money in the long run
DO it
>2) Are we done in Texas or do we keep the fight going here? If we're done, which state(s) do we concentrate on?
I'd say we are done, what's the next most important state?
>3) And how do we fight? Speeches, Ads?
Speech, put that charisma to use
>4) Any more Base Building? We still don't have a Consulting Office, that might be useful.
Build it
>>317919650
Should we concentrate on California?
It would be really cool to nab CA.

>4) No idea what stats which building give, but go for the office.
Consulting office gives neat bonuses, like you can hire a guy to increase your popularity or bully Hillary supporters.
>>317907001
Where was the new thread yesterday? I missed it.
>>317919650
We need Ohio or some other swing state. Michigan has 16 votes, Ohio has 18, and Pennsylvania has 20.
Might do us some good to lock things up somewhere.
>>317919854
Oh, well in that case how about we focus on the smaller states?
Start with Oklahoma, and move through all the easy ones to get.
>>317919781

Ground Game is way less expensive (costs only 50k to start and 3k to maintain each week) but it only works on the state it's in.
TV costs way more (450k to start and 30k to maintain each week), however, not only does it have triple the effect on the state the ad is in, it also has double the effect on the entire nation, making it for a worthy investment if you got the cash to hand out.

Done. We will probably need to wait a while to see the effects of this. We're starting to bleed money now. Only 188k left.
Now, /v/, to end this turn, we're gonna start moving about and doing some hand shaking and baby hugging.
Tell me the three states we should be concentrating the most on right now. The first in your order is the one we will be fighting for next turn.

Alright, mixing your votes. We went to Nevada first and gained some awareness there. Winning 44 43 over there.
Then we went to Florida, we're winning pretty handily, 49 40.
Lastly, we paid a visit to Texas. This territory is very obviously ours. We're winning 54 to 35. This may not necessarily be a good place to fight for. But it's certainly a very good place to fund our raises if we so desire next turn. It's the second richest state in the States and the richest doesn't like us very much.

On to our turn. We're in Texas, the perfect place to Fund Raise.
1) Do we fund raise?
2) If so, how many times? We can fundraise up to 4 times. Each time costs us 3 Stamina.
3) Do we stay to fight here in Texas or do we move on to another State? If so, which one?
4) And how do we fight? Speech or Ads?
>>317923159

Nevada.

I then passed by Pennsylvania. Things aren't looking good there. We're losing 48 to 41.
Then, I went by Minnesota, things are looking even worse there. We're losing 49 to 39.
Lastly, I stopped in Nevada. We can win here. We're drawing 44 to 44, a speech will do us good here.

Shit, Hillary with Women on her side. Not good. That move alone made us go from 44-44 to 45-43 her side. We need to catch up.
>>317924982
>women ruining shit again
Even with the Fundraisers, we are only at half a million, and to make matters worse, Hillary seems to be two to three turns ahead of us Endorsement wise. Probably because of her high Experience compared to ours.
This fight just got a lot tougher.
1) What states do we fight for?

Now, we're losing 48 to 42 but there's still hope. What do we do here in Virginia to get them to like us? Speech, Ad? We could build a base but tit'd cost over half our money.
