The problem with saying Breen does nothing wrong is that Freeman is the tool needed to save humanity, and Breen can't see that.

He saw humanity defeated overnight by a vastly superior race.

Then after years of hardship he was given the ultimate authority to safeguard mankind's meager future.

He didn't collaborate out of greed, he collaborated because he really though he could make things work out in the long run, a naive and foolish idea? Yes. But not a malicious one.

and then some old coworker of his comes flying out of fucking nowhere from the past, while at the same time becoming the face of the pitiful resistance within hours of appearing.

Of course he moves to stop this foolishness at any cost, but he. just. wont. die. He tries every dirty trick he knows, and sends a legion out to hunt him down.

He does all of this to appease the xenos leaders that are watching the unfolding situation intently, to piss them off and fail is to probably doom all of humanity.

Saying Breen dinndunuffin is foolish, saying he's a devil is stupid as well though.

Breen was blind, blind to what Freeman truly was, the hero mankind needed.

As for the controllers I don't know what would happen to them.

if the vortigaunts are all free, which all found ones are, then presumably the controllers are all dead.

being only miniature nihilanths, they were probably drones under its control, or were just blind servants or children of it, and fought to the death after its messy explosion.
>>
>>317915603
That's exactly it, we don't know, and that's the point. His only target is the Combine and his every move has been made specifically to fuck them over.

Giving the Anomalous Materials lab the crystal sample that caused the resonance cascade? Entirely planned, albeit with a lot of collateral damage. Linking Xen and our dimension was intended to draw the Combine to Earth to recapture the wayward slaves Gman had just unleashed on Earth.

Allowing the Combine to enslave humanity? Also planned. It ties up an enormous amount of Combine resources on Earth, as well as creates a downtrodden people ready to rise up and act as a convenient distraction for his agent provocateur to fuck shit up while they are busy dealing with a citizen revolt.

I have no doubt that Breen being offed and the advisors finding White Forest leading to the advisors brainsucking Eli were his doing. Both were expendable tools who had outlived their usefulness long ago.

Aperture's Borealis (whatever the fuck it actually is) is no doubt the lynchpin of some aspect of his plan, but we'll never see how it pans out because fucking Valve is more interested in collectible digital hats and cash shops than actual games.

He resonated with players really, really well. When we heard the pitch for Opposing Force, he resonated with us too. So we'll see."[8]

>In 2009, series' writer Marc Laidlaw also joked on his canon status, saying that Shephard is a bit like Schrödinger's cat: he is neither canon nor non-canon, depending on whether or not the G-Man may or may not have a use for him.[9]

>The problem with saying Breen does nothing wrong is that Freeman is the tool needed to save humanity, and Breen can't see that.

Of course he can't see it. Freeman is a time-traveling superhuman that travels between realities with the help of various outside forces.
He's basically God to any outside observer

You can see the G-Man talking to another scientist in HL, so I bet he was known in Black Mesa. Also, he never knew anything was going to happen until G-Man whispered in his ear about the Unforeseen Consequences.

I would love a spin-off with Adrian Shepard. You suddenly awaken during the rebellion and people start to notice you're kicking ass due to your military training. You become captain of a team of rebels. I'd like to imagine the finale taking place in a synth factory or a warehouse, ending with Adrian making a final sacrifice to further aid the resistance.
>>
>>317919331
It's what's called 'serious rp' among the gmod community. So there's no out-of-chatacter talking, except in a special chat.

You're entirely in-character and do things in-character. So yeah it can get pretty autistic.

The most impressive thing is their script. They've put a lot of work into it, and it's really impressive.

Google "taco n banana" to get their forums. i think everything in gmod is automatic now so you wont need to download anything manually, just join the server and it will do it for you.

What if...

...what if they make it so every time you die in the series is actually cannon? And I dont mean turning time back a bit each time, but us actually being treated to a different parallel universe each death until we finally arrived at the one where gordon just sorta happened to survive each and every encounter.

Actually, what if you're not the only one? And whatever organization the gman works for is actually gathering the "that guy" from fucking millions of universes?
Maybe to gather into the single most unstoppable army anyone has ever seen?

>Another occasion of Breen's appearance is during a video recording of a conversation made during Half-Life 2, where he mentions being transferred into a "host body". After seeing Breen on the monitor, Alyx is surprised, questioning how it is possible, but is then relieved when she realizes that it is an old recording - apparently she believes that Breen is dead. In the same scene, an Advisor in its pod (with the serial number 314 URB-LOC 0017) is moved into a launching tube and begins a psychic attack against Gordon and Alyx while leaving the Citadel. It could be possible that this advisor is Breen, having been put in this 'host body'.
