Too many games and movies don't know how to write gay characters. Take the first episode of Mr. Robot for example. There's an entire scene dedicated to having a character say he's gay out of nowhere. It wasn't done for entertainment, There was no underlying morals to be taught, there wasn't even a conflict that could be built upon. It wasn't added in so the main character would know this character is gay. It was added in so the audience would know that the producers added a gay character. It's pandering.
