The first map past the intro chapter, I have to kill 3 deathsabers that can instantly cross the map and smack Zetta and shut off invites. One of them is a key character, so killing them spawns 6 mages or so directly beside the starting area sandwiched between the starting enemies. Each mage can one shot anyone they want with spells.

3-3 is a single zombie. Have a unit move out a little to lure him in, they will die. Then have 7 units who can range attack work up a combo, finishing with 2 thief's to pit him to sleep and poison him. Repeat the ranged attacks and sleep/poison to work up a bonus meter (helps to pass a bonus gauge boost bill) and when he dies reap the money, gear and any bonus xp, as poison kills don't award xp on their own

Characters are half and half - Killia, Red Magnus, and Christo are all good, Zeroken serves almost no real purpose and Usalia is probably the most awful character they've ever written and actively brings down any goddamn scene she opens her fucking mouth in because it inevitably devolves into talking about curry and food since it's all she fucking talks about.
I like Seraphina, but a lot of people don't. Could go either way with her, personally I think she works due to having Killia around as a foil to her bullshit.
Story's not as good as 4, it still moves along at a good clip but it feels a little more character focused, which is good when it focuses on the characters you like and annoying when it's on the characters you don't. Any story is better than Disgaea 3 and its dogshit pacing.

The issue with Zeroken is he's completely superfluous in all possible ways. His impact on the plot feels shoehorned and he loses all relevance once his minor role is done, and in terms of gameplay he's another fist user when you've already got Killia. There's better ways they could have done it.
In Usalia's case, she's a giant fucking ball of character gimmicks that never relents. She has so many that the writers start forgetting them (remember how she just stopped thinking about complicated political/economical problems halfway through the game?), and she has a habit of steering every conversation towards her, or curry, or both. Her only point of development involves her parents, that's it, which also ties in with Majorita - another shit character (overpowered sadistic little girl oh wow we have never seen this before japan).

Armor Knights return in Disgaea 5 and have the same unique Evility. Generic classes have their own Unique Skills in D5 too, and Armor Knights have a great skill that does damage based on their DEF stat, then automatically guards after attacking.
Evilities also now work on a point system, where Evilities can take up between one and six slots of a possible 20 slots for common Evilities like Violence and Aggression, and three or four slots for Unique Evilities like the Valkyrie's Assault Attack. So you can make an Armor Knight damn near invincible by stacking resistance Evilities.
