What build are you using for your mc /v/? I fucked up with my charisma/luck one
it doesnt matter. levels are capped so you can only level a skill proportionately with your base level
your character will be a jack of all trades like everyone else no matter what you do

its impossible to have a specialised build. because it stops you from leveling a skill for 8 more levels everytime. so you end up with all these random perk points that you have to put somewhere. so your character just ends up a jack of all trades

In the long term yes but you don't start the game level 50

from the very first time you put a perk point in a level and try to do it again the next level and realise you cant your build will be fucked. by level 10 you realise just how many perk points you have to spend and just how little chances you get to put them in the 3 or 4 skills you decided were your skills. by level 15 your character is well and truely a jack of all trades and you at most have 2 levels on 3 skills. by level 25 your character can do everything well and you are putting your perk points on the most irrelevant shit, just because you have no where else to put them. by level 30 you realise that the game has no other play styles. everybody who plays this game ends up with the exact same build

Its fun as heck, I assume it would be more fun if I actually bothered to wear armour but all I use is the postman outfit which makes things a bit harder

I'm playing a 10 perception survivalist character who's proficient at the trade skills. I mainly use a powerful rifle with a bayonet on the end. I like to charge the enemies with the bayonet and while they recover I pop a few hipshots into their meat. It's a super fun build and works suprisingly well.

and what makes it even worse is npcs get stronger as you level. so you never really get a head combat wise because the npcs are growing just as fast as you. its like the points you put in never did anything

It's to keep the challenge in the game. And I do feel myself getting better, it's just the enemies get tougher.

and the ricochet kill is like 1/1000
I went with high charisma and full on melee, it's extremely OP when you get the 4th perk for melee weapons and just stealth around killing 3 or 4 people at once from like 10 meters distance
