Is it the return of the Midnight Druids thread?
What kind of game was this, anyway?
the fuck does a druid do anyway?
all i know about druids is stuff from diablo, that being they are werewolves/bears and can summon bears and wolves and ravens and plants
can any folklore experts here verify if this is an accurate portrayal of druids?

Very, very little is actually known about druidic faith. Ironically, Mystery of the Druids is a very accurate title for them.
What we know is that druids were religious figures that were leaders to the people of the British isles, that they were most likely responsible for the creation of Stonehenge, and that the Roman portrayed them as savages that engaged in human sacrifice.
The idea of druids being nature heroes was more or less invented by Dungeons and Dragons. Druids were originally a subclass of Cleric, to represent faith of a more pagan/naturalistic bent. As Clerics they had access to both healing and damage magic that was flavored as being from nature (plants and animals and all that stuff). When they became their own class, they ended up also getting the ability to turn into animals.
To make a long story short, the "fantasy druid" as we know it is just a catchall term for "nature spellcaster". There's no real reason for it, but real druids DID wander around in misty forests wearing cloaks and doing weird rituals.
>>316665120
Druids are just people in-tune with nature, supposedly with the ability to commune with nature (trees/plants/wildlife)
>>316665841
It WAS alright until some guy started samefagging like fuck for his epic r/4chan screencap
>>316664623

The nature connection probobally comes from the fact that one of the Celtic gods was a horned god (antlers I believe) and that the the horns represented trees and thus a nature link.
Also, most ancient healers would fuck around with plants since ancient people did have some understanding that some plants had chemicals that had some use for the human body.
Did anyone ever actually play that game?
>>316666353
No really, what is the plot of this game?
>>316665120
Not a folklore expert, but from what I know :
Druids are some sort of nature magicians. Basically make potions, uses trees/plants etc... for magical uses and also protects it. Can transform into animals and talk to them (not sure ). Basically a hippy that wants to be furry.
Does anyone have that picture someone made for the Stanley Parable, the one where a cake had arms and legs and said Bazinga, and featured a giant druid and grafics cat?
>>316666724
Someone posted it in this very thread
Is this meme game actually good, or do people just like posting the silly box art?

Found the subtle one inside the C.
How many are there?
I always wondered what noise the druid made when screaming. I always imagined it as a senile old man scream.
>>316667267
No idea, I do recall the guy who originally made it said that even he forgot how many there were
>>316667327
We really need to bring this back.
>>316666654
Of course, but the druids were no different from the countless other pagan faiths.
Was expecting fluid druids :'(
