Yeah, I honestly wasn't sure whether it would work as an anime either, especially with the current state of anime where a lot of shows generally are given too low budgets to really bring out good quality animation.
But it came out pretty good, so far at least. There are a few hitches and flaws, sure, but the animation is pretty good and the art doesn't deviate too far from the manga adaption.
I know it completely killed it for me when the Jitsu wa Watashi wa was made into an anime but without the artstyle of the manga.
