One thing I hope they include in 2 is some unique NPC interactions, as a big part of the story was Kat helping out Hekseville and becoming known as the gravity queen and all that. Would be neat as hell if the civilians all responded to her when she becomes well known in 2.

Can't say for certain since the game's not out yet, but 2 seems to be a fairly direct sequel, so it'd be best to play 1 before it.
1 is worth playing on its own either way. Bit rough around the edges but absolutely worth a look. Personally one of my favourite games. 2 is the same type of gameplay as 1, but with new mechanics, so if you think 2 looks neat you'll probably think the same with 1.

Please think, seriously THINK before you actually post something that suggests or implies that Sony's past Steam releases which as we can see are of the insignificant scale, might be indicative of Sony's first-party home console output such as Horizon. Bloodborne, Uncharted, Gravity Rush, or The Last Guardian actually reaching Steam. Not either of the shitposters, but I wouldn't mind Gravity Rush Remastered hitting PC eventually. It's a great game and I'd love for more people to be able to play it. I doubt it will happen anytime soon but it would be nice.

I definitely want to see more footage. The announcement trailer was extremely underwhelming, because of how empty everything felt.
The graphics aren't going to blow anything out of the water, but if we get a lot of stuff on screen and a steady framerate, I'm fine with that.
At the very least, the draw distance has been greatly improved.

Planetside is an SOE game.
SOE has always existed on PC, Sony never treated it as a PS console essential.
Also, SOE, along with the Planetside IP, is not with Sony anymore.
