That moment and Shining Lights were the best moments in the game because Venom actually showed some fucking emotion beyond "stare blankly". It was only in those scenes that you could feel him actually care about what he was doing and losing with Mother Base and his soldiers.

I really like how we are now pretending mgsv is me3. Venom was used by big boss. Venom originally accepts this and then gets pissed off about it during the events of mg1 and realizing big boss essentially pep talked him into erasing his identity. It's a fucking phenomenonal god damn ending and shows how bad big boss goes.
Sure, it could have used a literal tie in to metal gear 1, but it was far from the bad ending people are making it sound like.
