It's the only game on that list without any seriously significant flaws, and while I also put Mario Maker I that camp I can't consider a game that's essentially a mod for SMB 1/3/World/New as GOTY
Bloodborne is the only game on that list that's actually deserving of a reward. I don't even like from software games that much but that is the only one where it was completely for the sake of making a good game and not just swinging on the hype of the fans. I wanted MGSV to be the goty but I respectively can't say that would be correct with the ending being the way it is. That is just pure evil and greed. the same could be said for fallout, and mario maker as well. The Witcher 3 is just somewhat of a dull game and if your game doesn't complete the one task a game is meant to do then it isn't worthy of being considered the best game of the year. I just find something endearing about bloodborne for so many reasons.

They don't deserve to be on there, honestly. Nintendo hasn't released a groundbreaking game in a really long time. Splatoon is the closest thing I can think of to an innovative game they've done in a while. That's not to say that Fallout 4 is anything new either, though.
