This game is so great because it's 16v16. 32v32 is a problem

This game is so great because it's 16v16.

32v32 is a problem because it's like 25 characters spawning on 5, which is obviously a bit ludicrous for a supposedly-tactical game. Maybe the series could improve with a better spawn system (mentioning nothing of crumbling buildings and toppling flora).

The spawning is part of the problem, but so is the focus on tiny, cramped bits of the maps to the exclusion of the rest of the terrain.
PR does fine at 50v50.
>>
>>316491648
Is PR spawning squad-based?
>>
>>316491189
It's not great because of the player count. That was one of the things holding it back. It was great because destruction actually meant something, and guns in general felt a lot more fun to shoot than in 3/4. Also, the campaign was actually fun, unlike recent Battlefield games.
>>
>>316492361
You contradict your own point here. The fewer players there are, the more the destruction matters. In 64/64 the maps just get leveled within the first minute.
>>
>>316492361
The point is more than just player count, but how they spawn on each other.
>>
>>316491189
It's great because it does its own thing and it does it really well
>only 4 classes, but they're all unique, have their uses and are really fun to play
>spawn on everyone squads making for prolonged firefights despite smaller player count
>smaller maps, but well-designed, with destruction thata ctually adds to the gameplay
>top-tier sound design immersing you like few other games
>no jets, simplifying the air-ground balance and making it work satisfyingly
>vehicles are all useful and drive well
>>
>>316493243
Forgot
>no prone, allowing sniper rifles to actually be really strong without recons being silly OP, and dimishing camping
>>
>>316493243
the map design isn't great all around, some points in rush are very one sided, but overall its good
>>
>>316491731
Kinda.
Permenant spawn at your team's main.
Semi-permenant team spawn at buildable FOB's.
One temporary squad spawn point deployable by squad leaders, refreshes when they visit a FOB.

Who the hell honestly plays Battlefield for the campaign.

I wish BF would just drop it and just focus on the multiplayer and netcode.
>>
>>316493557
I played through both BC and BC2 campaigns. They were great.
>>
i played more on the 360 because it was only 12 on 12 and that was perfect. only played rush because it was the superior mode for bc2 and that game was so much fucking fun.

the sound of the mi-24 alone was enough to make it goty, and plebs using headphones or tv speakers wouldnt understand
>>
>>316493557
If they dropped campaign people will butch over a thing they never played

Casual faggots.
>>
>>316491189
even BF4 is better than that console bullshit

I find it hilarious that people shit on the newer BF games while defending BC2 and probably haven't even played the other games
>>
>>316494018
Explains a lot I suppose.
>>
>>316493640
These were
Bf3 campaign was literal scum tier
still better than fallout 4
>>
>>316494018
>>316494126
EA reports that it costs as much to develop a 6 hour campaign as it does the entire multiplayer. What a fucking waste of money. This series has only gone downhill
>>
>>316491189
BC2 is perfect because they centered all the maps around Rush/Infantry combat.
Simple as that really.
Fuck I miss playing the Nam expansion.
I'd fire that shit up and see how the servers are doing but my computer is too shit atm.

I reinstalled this last month after my Xbox died a few years back. So good to be back.

BF3 and 4 are theme park Battlefield games.

This fucking game

the controls on PC are janky as fuck
>>
>>316495363
It's because of no diagonal sprinting and no vaulting over stuff, if you're used to the later bf games those feel pretty archaic
>>
>>316495363
Wot. It's the same as console but better.
>>
>>316495768
god no I played the open BF3 beta or whatever and never touched the series since

movement in the older BF games was so tight
>>
>>316495970
>>316495363
Must be something on your end.
The controls were as tight as ever in BC2

Can you give an example of what you mean?
