Feels like it is being promoted as another boring cover shooter. Gameplay videos are full of shitty looking combat instead of what makes Deus Ex a good series. On top of that, they added blink. The worst mechanic from dishonored. I cant wait to see how that fucks with stealth and exploration.

And yea, no one really cared about the story in HR, so how about we do the exact same story again but with the melodrama dialed up to 11?

That's true, but they reason they need some ulterior incentive to do certain things.
A lot of RPGs do this, so there's no specific reason DXMD would be bad for using it.

Would you prefer having the exp rewarded retroactively instead; at end of missions, or no bonuses at all?

Because I can't get hyped about this.

The writing is garbage. All kinds of interesting Deus Ex lore they could use, but they just doubled down on 'it's actually about ethics in robotic limbs' shit.

It looks like nothing has actually been improved other than the graphics and amping up the gameplay to try and make it appeal to people who don't even really like RPGs in the first place.
>>
>>316483870
But that's the whole point of this anon. He's trying to find the fucking Illuminati, the lead dev said this in the commentary. The fact is, people are mad at the "clankers", because the Illuminati CAUSED the bug which made them go mad and attack people. In short, the Illuminati caused the racism metaphor on purpose to distract people.

It's a pretty tired trope, people who believe in NWO and shit believe stuff like SJW, feminism and so on is all a distraction from actual problems or events which are then shut up and not reported on.

You see it even without important events. Remember that missing aircraft? Silence for months. Then parts were discovered on Reunion, guess what? No mention of it after that. Immigrants in Europe committing crimes? Abusing? Stealing? Raping? All kept quiet.

That's what the game is covering. How shit you see and seems big isn't anything.

They're making Adam too stronk. They keep going like this and the game will be a complete cakewalk even more than HR was.
>>
>>316483878
Original nailed it, complete an objective - get the XP.

There is inherent value to exploring a well crafted Deus Ex level, be it a path that is more suited to your skill set, getting resources and information, the player can determine what risks are worth it, and take pride in finding an easy way. And with major themes being control of the masses and individuals, selecting whether to pry and investigate builds that genuine connection.

DEHR suggests that it would really like to see you punch everyone in the building unconscious, preferably in pairs. This doesn't even contradict its definition of "ghosting", which I wouldn't want to see rewarded either, even if it was implemented faithful to the original meaning.
>>
>>316480470

Because the plot looks to be a rehash of the last one which was so fucking dull "don't be racist to cyborgs" with a couple mentions of the Illuminati shoved in to try and link it back to Deus Ex

>nanoaugs are considered to be superior to mechanical augmentations
explain this
>>
>>316485265
they don't have to be superior in every single way

original deus ex games need to be remade because we're suffering the "star wars" effect where all the prequels look and feel more impressive than the original games
>>
>>316485265
nanoaug without upgrade isnt as good as fully upgraded mechanic. and nano aug is considered better mainly for an unsuspecting appaerance and harder to be manipulated.
>>
>>316485265
It's like when the prequel-era technology so dominated the OT tech, sometimes the creator just wants to make cool new stuff instead of handicapping themselves design-wise
>>

>>
>>316485506
>nano aug is considered better mainly for an unsuspecting appaerance and harder to be manipulated.

Nope, it's flat out said to be superior.

It's just down to the limitations of the previous game, not like the other mechanical augmented agents in Deus Ex were doing what the ones in HR were doing, even though by the scale of time that's passed they should've been the peak of mech augs.
>>
>>316485701
Another thing to consider, Adam can be augmented without any backlash from his immune system. Which means that he may be nanoaugmented on top of extensive mechanical augmentations, that's why he's so over the fucking top.

JC could do detective work, discover who the baddies are and kill the baddies from an adjacent building with a gep gun instead of walking into there obvious traps.

>>
>>316487047
I agree, the only thing MD needs is just more hubs to explore.
>>
>>316484837
This absolutely nails it. It seems like such a simple thing but it would improve not just the newer Deus Exes but really a lot of modern games. Devs these days think incentivising different playstyles means handing out XP for lots of different things you can do, but what that actually incentivises is grinding and metagaming. Players should be motivated by in-universe incentives. A game like Deus Ex could even do away with XP entirely and tie character progression completely to augmentations you acquire through exploration or as rewards (or buy from money obtained through those). There's your incentive.

Mostly the animations and the clunkiness of the gameplay is what aged poorly

Literally the only thing that is "wrong" with it is achieving maximum accuracy with shit weapon skill, and that serves to reinforce the importance of RPG elements. Even if human characters have goofy animations, the movement isn't bad mechanically, like Red Faction's inertialess, perpetually sliding back and forth mooks.
