As a Sony fan and a Final Fantasy fan, I don't really care that much, honestly. Cloud's the most popular FF character, but FFVII is not my favorite FF. I have nothing against it, I just like a few other games in the series better. I'm also not really into Smash much, but I have a friend who's a Nintenbro, and I occasionally play it at his house. Usually I play Ness or Pac-Man, but if he gets this DLC (and he probably will) I'll try Cloud out.
For my own purchases I'm more interested in FFXV and the new Dissidia.

I think this is probably just them trying to represent their history with the Final Fantasy franchise in general, by using the most popular and recognizable FF character, who happens to have nothing to do with Nintendo at all

Not really hype because the game is out and I already know its garbage. The only reason we were hyped for Sonic/Snake was because we thought we were getting more Melee on top of 3rd party dream characters, we already expected Brawl 2 so why bother.
