I think it's more that no one cares. Monster Hunter has barely evolved since its inception, if anything it has gone backwards technologically.
Can you imagine how much the series would have come forward in ten years if someone other than Capcom were making it? The areas wouldn't be segmented into 12 or so little rooms with loading screens between them, I can tell you that.

I tried playing the Digital version of Gwent but there's all this annoying walking fighting and talking between the between the game parts I just interest.

It's pretty hard for a Monster Hunter game to disappoint. They don't really change enough, it's also because of that fact that I would hesitate to consider 4U GotY, it's not that special. And I say this as someone who has sunk 8000+ hours into the series, including 900 hours on the original PS2 game.
