Grigori practices magic and language unknowable by mortals, Alduin barely speaks his own language that is also somehow spoken better by the Dovahkiin. Grigori decides who gets to become god, None of the gods or Deidra seem to even talk about Alduin. Defeating Grigori requires a protracted, challenging battle (provided you are not a ranger because rangers are OP) over a whole mountain range while Alduin requires 30 seconds. Grigori is enormous while Alduin is tiny.
Pretty much any dragon is cooler than Alduin, Bethesda really messed up.

Alduin has been fully consuming all of existence for ever, as in really for ever outside of time he has done it infinite amount of times. He is the very reason why mutliple myths exist in the first place, Dreugh civilizations really existed and Molag Bal was indeed king of the Kalpa but Alduin came and fucking erased it all and reset it back to convention.
There is literally fuck all that any Et'Ada can do to Alduin other than try to trick him or sneaky fuck him.

Alduin should be able to command literally anything, the very reason why Mehrunes Dagon exists is because back when he was a free Et'Ada that could jump Kalpas he pissed off Alduin by hiding chunks of matteria away from him so that eventually each Kalpa would be too big for Alduin to consume, so Alduin just commanded him to be corrupted fucked up version of himself for ever.

I love how, as long as it's not shot down by Gough, it just stays in the air and burns you to a crisp. It feels great how the game actually comes up with a reason why a big winged monster would fight you on the ground instead of staying in the air safely. There was a disconnect between story and gameplay and the game suffered for it. To kill Alduin all I had to do was shoot him with my bow a few times. Grigori was a fucking ordeal and don't get me started on the Ur-dragon. It's kinda like that episode of spongebob the fry cook games when plankton was announcing patrick's entrance. You thought it was going to be some huge monster of a contestant but it was just patrick. It's just a let down the world eater couldn't a few arrows to the chest.

Human teeth are strong but the muscles in the jaw are weak compared to predators that kill with their teeth. A dragon has, in general, the best stats. Scales harder than armor, teeth and claws sharper than weapons and breath of breathing whatever. They did or do not require weapons because they already come equipped with the best ones.
If dragons used their intelligence they'd have used their treasures to go into trading and eventually end up rich enough to rule by wealth.
