It really is some mobile game fuckery where they get a decent looking icon then when you see the actual game it's total shit.
So a couple of days ago, Dragon Fin Soup had a release trailer featuring quotes by Kotaku (something about the world being vibrant and beautiful when it's not trying to stab you in the back) and Polygon ("...it actually feels refreshing to play as a strong young woman who is more scrappy than sexy.") The music was the kind of dubstep and editing you'd expect from an MLG Remix, complete with outrageous bloom effects.

Now the game is doing a simultaneous release with Playstation Plus for November and the Kickstarter backers are PISSED that everyone's getting a "free" game off their backing.I still plan on playing it, I just wish I had a copy of the original trailer to laugh at. As I said before, the competition is pretty much ASCII stuff, Dredmor, ToME and ADOM. It's like it's impossible to get a good looking roguelike but that is a decent attempt.

This game is horrible
The visuals are just so messy it is horrible to look at
The art is sort of cute (and oddly inconsistent in style) but in game it is horrible
The whole no world under your map feels like someone played bastion but didn't get why they could do that (calamity) so it just makes the world seem fucked up
The gameplay is sort of mash and use abilities that not that interesting
The controls feel loose which is really weird for a grid based game
The story is a mess and general dialogue just terrible
I don't know how someone messed up a simple concept so badly
