It's the only ff with even remotely challenging combat and a coherent and well thought out story with tons of world building lore behind it. It's entirely focused on said story and if you don't like it that's understandable. 13 2 on the hand fixes none of 13s problems, maps are still mostly small hallways and there still is no side content, while adding new ones by breaking the combat and making it much much easier and then stringing the whole game along with a bad fan fiction tier script.

I liked 13 enough to finish it because I was interested in the story and the combat was fun.
13-2's story was so fucking unbearable that I dropped the game halfway through.
The combat in 13-2 was better, however.
13-3's story sucked less than 13-2, but it was shit unbelievable shit. The gameplay was by far the best out of the three.
