big basement. lots of smokers. one tiny window.
lots of CS 1.6, WC3 custom maps and some quick SC BW sessions. 2 or 3 days.

my first and last true lan party. it was glorious...
>>
>>291172657

Yes, it was my only one as well. It was probably one of the greatest nights of my life.

I was only a kid at the time, probably 12 or 13.

My mothers church friend told my mum her husband was doing some "computer party thing" and they knew I loved computers so they asked me if I wanted to go too.

Ended up staying over at some guys house, with my my mums friends husband and a bunch of other cunts he knew, up until like 4 in the morning playing video games with each other and eating junk food. Was so fucking fun.

But way back when my dad built me 3 equal spec machines that we had in a line so me and my 2 other friends I hung out with way back when could all play everquest and counter-strike, diablo 2, sc:bw and wc3 etc together.
MFW I just realized they have used that same ISP for almost 15 years now.

Ive never had enough friends for a full blown LAN party. I did host LAN parties in my highschool computer room during lunch and after school. The computer room was off limits unless you had a class in there and it was in the very back of the school where nobody went. I had to steal the key from the custodians office and sneak in there to put cracked versions of CS, SC, WC3, Quake 3 and UT on all of the computers which took days. Since I was the only person in the school with the computer room key, I was the leader of a fucking cartel by the end of senior year and I never got caught by any teachers.

We all gave ourselves goofy names too. "Grapist", "BIG DADDY SPLASH", "Joe is a faggot", "800 pound gorilla". I gotta say, LAN parties had god tier banter. Imagine 20 people just shit talking for hours over counterstrike.

The biggest issue I had with that episode was that it was literally a 1 hour long roadtrip, they didn't go to the studio at all. No new cars, no news, nothing.
The other obvious we don't have the budget stuff is the drag races they are doing. They seem to literally be I know a guy that has X car, he wants to race it vs some other guy who has Y car.

Strategy at LANs are the best because no one is rushing.
In the 7 hour game my teammate built a massive fortified city which was attacked by both of our enemies, but their forces were stopped halfway through.
While one half was destroyed by them and rebuilt as an outpost, we could hold the other side.
It was like a AOEII east-west Berlin.

No stinky shooter can create such stories.

It was in a cybercafé (with powerfull computers for the time) my brother's friend had (my brother worked there). We would plan before, and then when he would close the cyber cafe for people at night, we would go in and pull all-nighters.

The owner, his brother, me, my brother, and other 2 friends of us (some times even more), playing CS, HALF LIFE, TF, and all sorts of games (mostly cs and halflife).
