try cycling the battery a few times. That should recalibrate it. try to refrain from recharging it when there'ss still like 50-70% charge left. It lowers the maximum charge too quickly.

OLED screens also suffer commonly from mura which are blotches that you see on the screen while having a black screen and viewing it in a dark room

On the vita it says its rating as 5V, 2A DC while your usb will probably give you 0.5 or 1A in the best scenario 2A, but only if you have configured it in bios.
Standard AC power plug for vita has a rating of 5V, 2A which is the same as for the psp.
So your question, yes AC power adaptor will prove more efficient.

lasts longer than my 3ds xl. i generally never run out of battery since I immediately put it in the charging stand after using it and don't play it for more than 4 hours straight. I also usually have the screen at about 5-10% brightness since it's incredibly vibrant and that's all the brightness it needs under normal lighting conditions.

It depends on the game, more demanding games drain your battery like a fucker, Atelier games and all that makes it last for 4-5. I played Castlevania SotN and the battery lasted for 12 hours, brightness on medium. Also Rayman O. lasted for 6-7, if you want more battery life get a portable battery, it's a lot of trouble to remember to charge it but it is better than nothing.

my battery life is hellagud. i play killzone mercenary on this bad boy and i remember playing it on a 12 flight from Canada and had a good 30mins juice left by the time i got home. that was with screen brightness on lowest, playing kz and gravity rush, listening to music on full volume, watching some anime and general internet use while waiting in Edmonton international airport.
having a blast playing OlliOlli 2. usually hate the shitty indie shit in ps+ but this is addicting.

Consistent play? about 4-6 hours for me depending on the game.
However since I usually play it in 30-45 minute sessions during my break at work, mine lasts about 4-5 days before I need to recharge it.
Make sure to turn off the bluetooth shit and wireless when in idle-mode unless you're using them, that saved me a shitload of battery life in the long-run.
