I bought PS4 for Destiny. I don't regret it. Many many hours of playtime with my friends, almost every single day.
I'll eventually get Bloodborne, Dragon Quest Heroes, and some other stuff.
I bought a WiiU for MH3U to play with friends. I got MK8, Smash, and I'll be buying more games for it.
I bought the Xbone for Gaylo Masterchief edition which was an awful decision with how buggy it is. But I'll be getting Halo 5 for it and maybe some other games if they ever come out.
Buying a console is an investment. And no I don't care about the slim models that come out later, who gives a fuck.

I mainly bought it for P4G, but I love the Atelier series, and the plus versions are the best versions of the game. I also ended up grabbing the vita tv, when the bundle went on sale for fifty bucks. Playing Atelier on my big screen is comfy.
Standards have dropped massively, which is why anything seemingly actually decent-good is banked on like a golden chariot from the heavens above.

As someone that likes playing on consoles I don't think I'll ever understand this logic. Ratchet and Clank is my favorite series, I cannot get enough of it, have never not enjoyed a game in the series. Yet Ratchet and Clank alone would not be enough for me to consider getting a PS4. I'll stick to seventh gen consoles for now. Every eighth gen game I'm interested in is coming out on PC anyway.

They're somewhat different games. The stories are more involved and you have more characters in the party during battles. Item Crafting is still topnotch.
In the first game the MC collects elements from the area maps and uses them to craft items. There's no time element to the item crafting.
Overall they're very comfy sit down and play on a rainy day JRPGs. Like they're so comfy that to achieve maximum comfy would need just like if you had someone you're comfortable with in the room with you doing their own thing but at the same time just chilling and hanging out with you.

Do you know how many shitty JRPGs are on the PS1 compared to the PS2? There's a whole shitload of PS1 JRPGs made in the style of SNES JRPGs but somehow mange to be worse in every regard on that system. And lets not forget that the PS2 had way more western release of JRPGs than the PS1.
