The taste of viewers went into lets plays but mine stayed at machinimas.
I average one view per video, and sometimes put out up to three videos a day. Twitch isn't any better.There's no room for guys like me, who don't act like memelords.

I wanted to start one but I have no idea how to get some followers. The video may be good how much you want but if literally nobody will check it the popularity chain will never start unless you're a famous guy from some circlejerk place.
I tried to do it once, I went so far as to buy a nice microphone and a shield for it so I would sound a little more professional. Did it for a little while but I ended up hating it. I just want to kick back and enjoy a game, not force myself to play something and then edit it all together just for the sake of YouTube views.
Honestly I don't know how some people do it, I know they're making money but they're also sacrificing their enjoyment for a hobby by turning it into a job.
