I don't quite understand the Souls community, myself. I appreciate difficult games, but the Souls community acts like DS is somehow unique among the dozens of titles that use the same approach, or are mechanically more involved than DS is.

The Demon's Souls community was great before it released worldwide. Dark Souls was a step back in a lot of places (particularly online play), but it's still a solid series and I love the games even if the community is complete ass.

I really liked Demon's Souls, but it was shocking how much Dark Souls's community blew up when it came out.
Demons Souls was a well-received niche title, but Dark Souls was fucking charting. It's insane.

Yeah, back in the days when we collaborated to figure things out, and there were no "pvp builds" where people tried to do the cheapest shit possible. Everyone hates people because as the game grew in popularity, the quality of the audience dropped drastically until terrible became the majority.
