The PS4 and Xbone are packing hardware that was incredibly outdated on its release, and every passing year they're getting left behind at an almost hilarious rate. And despite this fact people continue to say 30fps is better than 60, the human eye can't register 1080p, and every other similar statement to avoid addressing the elephant in the room.
And the best part? At the start of the gen everyone and their mother were hyping the PS4 and Xbone as tremendous graphical powerhouses that could blow a six-million dollar PC out of the water, the "perfect PC". Let me tell you why this is complete bullshit.
Microsoft and Sony spend literally hundreads of thousands of $’s putting technology in to each and every Xbox and PS. Because they know what equipment they are using is the best technology available in todays market that will work in a machine without blowing up or over-heating too quick.
Where-as with a PC, you’d have to go out and buy a new graphics card just to enhance graphics. You think that’ll improve the game when in fact I’tll make your game shit. The reason the game has that style of graphics is because that’s the best it’ll run at. If you try and improve the graphics on the game, it’ll be too much data for the game to hold, and therefore it’ll make the game run slower than before and worse for your time playing it. Which means the money you’ve spent on the graphics card was a complete waste of time.
Xbox One and PS4 have got the everything it needs to make sure the games you play, will be the best way to play them. I seriously can’t understand how anyone can think PC’s are better than consoles.

Ive beaten games famous for gamebreaking glitches with no patches installed.
I have literally never had those issues that you speak of.

DVI, Display Port, and HDMI are all digital. DisplayPort and HDMI have built-in audio. The newest standard specs for both allow 4K 60fps video, though adoption of the spec on TVs is taking a while.
Pretty much every PC graphics card comes with at least one DisplayPort (or mini DP) and one HDMI, so I can hook up a PC to a TV just as easily as I can hook up a console. Just throw a wireless keyboard/mouse combo and a PS4 controller or Xbox wireless controller adapter into the mix and you suddenly have controller controls for most games. Not just make Steam start automatically on Windows and you've got a gaming box hooked up to your TV. Add a shortcut to Kodi (XBMC) to Steam and you now have a media playback and gaming center, set up much better than any console, hooked up to your TV.

For general performance, Bus Speed is more important than clock speed. The instruction set extensions are also important but if you buy something new you don't have to worry about it.
Emulation of last-gen consoles is interesting in that is strongly relies on every aspect of power of a CPU. Bus speed, clock speed, and optimization through instruction set extensions like SSE, are all extremely important.
