Guess what, there's only ONE KIND of hard plastic case for these things. I've had one for my 3DS, for my DSi XL, for my PSP, my Vita, hell, my Wii U gamepad. Only one of them has ever broken, and that was the 3DS one, and it breaking protected my 3DS from harm.
So there's no point in paying more than 5 dollars for em, because if i buy a 15 dollar one, it's still the same fucking case. And of course I take good care of my systems, but it doesn't hurt to be even more careful and provide some extra layer of protection in case something DOES go wrong.

I take it I also lucked out super hard, too. My model is pristine. No dead pixels, buttons all work, hinge is tight and clicky, and the transfer process only took fifteen minutes.
Monster Hunter 4 is a lot of fun. I'm glad that game actually has tutorials and an in-game button that tells you what all of the armor effects actually do instead of just basically saying "lol look it up." I hate games designed around the idea of looking things up on an external wiki.

Yes, that's the one. The only difference is that the linked one is for the New XL.
Duraflexi/TPU is the way to go. It's stiff but still somewhat soft. Kind of a weird plastic. It's not as super-clear as the cheap plastic ones, but it'll last a lot longer and won't damage the console.
If you have one of the soft-plastic cell phone cases from the past few years that's what the Duraflexi case is like.
Hori sells them in Japan too as the TPU case, so if you're impatient you can import it. It's the same thing.
Love mine, glad I went with the white one. Got it today and made sure I could use another country's eshop, which I did. But now I feel like a retard for spending 2 euro on a theme (Hanafuda) when the basic one was actually great and non-intrusive. At least the music is nice.

Yeah, there's really no option for super clear and very protective. The Hori one I have is the best route if you want the protector last a while.
But if you're happy with yours then there's no reason to buy another. I do admit that the Triforce emblems on my console are a bit harder to make out in certain angles with the protector on, but I prefer it to be protected well enough.
Another plus is that, because it's a softer, almost rubbery plastic, the console is more comfortable to hold when I don't have a grip on it.

Shit games at the beginning, every Nintendo launch has a pretty gud game but the Wii U and the 3DS.
Well I think mine is defective. I dont know why but when I try to go down with the c-stick its harder than any other direction. Am I the only one with this problem?
I didn't do my research, so I was surprised to find the stylus was shorter and had moved to a really shitty location. I like the nub, I love the face-tracking, and I'm sure I'll come to regret the MH paint job soon enough.

It's harder to push down due to the hinge being too close to the nub and blocking your finger a bit, but other than that it should be the same as up

I had a fucking 2DS, now that I have a job I can upgrade
I wanted the normal New 3DS, as I was never a fan of the XL's screen size. After testing it out though, I caved and picked up the black XL (burgerland here).
I gotta say, the head-tracking 3D is worth it, the bigger screens make some games feel more open, and the c-nub is pretty nifty. I've been playing a lot of Monster Hunter3since picking the thing up, and I rarely ever touched that game prior.

Its great, but I noticed theres almost a clicking sound at full volume from shrill noises coming from the speakers.
Is this normal? I feel like its just the combination of the pitch and volume, but maybe its hardware.
