Original or Redux?
I tried playing the original and I just couldn't get into it. No stealth, enemies took 20 bullets to kill (might have been the difficulty) I just didnt like it.
However I vastly enjoyed Last Light, doing my first playthrough on Ranger Hardcore. I intend to play Metro Redux in the same fashion.

there are a handful but you can get away with just using the shotty for most of the time
some "casualized" aspects of last light triggered my autism, like the digital watch and its putting me off from getting the upgrade on muhxbone.
I fucking love Burbon and how most of the game is just point A to B where I really felt like I was making an arduous journey to get somewhere.
But the quad shotty in LL was goat, just duck taping two of those things together.

One of the things I loved about Ranger Hardcore, was that I had to try and remember how much ammo I had for my guns. The times I was picking off nosalises only to hear my gun go "click, click" and have an "oh shit" moment, scramble for my other weapons then take them down just before they reached me were heart pounding.

I didn't enjoy Last Light nearly as much as 2033. Even putting aside the dumbed down, DSP proof stealth and the way they fucked up Ranger mode, it just failed to capture the atmosphere of the original.
Except for the swamp, the whole swamp segment was fucking 10/10.

2033 Redux modifies some of the the level design, adds a new section before the library, swaps out the original character and weapon models for LL ones and incorporates LL stealth mechanics and adds locked safes with keys for you to find around the maps.

and i took it home
and i played it that night
and i got very far after dying alot and trying hard

and when i woke up the next morning to play
it didnt save and then i didnt want to play it again beacuse of the hard parts that i had to do over and over again like when you first meet the nazis and they kill you easy

Don't bother shooting it, make it run into and smash all the pillars holding up the cave roof, it will run away after they're gone in the first room, in the second room I think it dies automatically once the pillars are gone, otherwise it becomes very easy to kill.
