The only "gamer" who isn't actually a gamer is someone who plays exclusively mobile phone mostly freemium games. Having Angry Birds on your cell phone doesn't make you a gamer, and pretending it does skews demographics so developers try to target an audience that doesn't actually care about their product.
Debates about which AAA garbage franchises are "casual" and which are "true gamer" or "hardcore" are mostly pointless. People who care are going to assume their preferred AAA garbage is "true gamer" and the AAA garbage they don't like is "casual".

Your sex does not determine whether or not you are a gamer; in order to be a gamer, you have to play video games. Lots of them. Gaming must be one of your main (if not your main) hobbies.
If you don't have bags under your eyes from lack of sleep because you stayed up late playing games, if you don't have poor-as-fuck posture and a slouch from sitting in front of the TV/computer screen for hours at a time, if you don't forget to eat a meal every once in a while because you're absorbed in a game, then you are not a real gamer.
In order to be a true gamer, you must love video games.

Well, fair enough, but they went out of their way to be as obtuse as humanly possible. Some of those questions would be hard for die-hard fans of the game to answer, while the others were like "what do moogles say?" which anyone who has ever even looked at a FF game sideways would know.
