Im a MH newbie but Im enjoying it on my old 3DS. Tried all the weapons out, Charge Blade is the only thing that feels "right" to me. I like being a slow moving, hard hitting faggot. I still suck though, I expect to do these easy quests a bunch in order to begin the process of gitting gud.
It's the best game in the series so far, it's on 3DS only, so you buy a 3DS for it.
If it ever comes out on WiiU, you just play that version instead.

This head tracking is too fucking good; the 3D makes the screen seem bigger and feel less cluttered (not even the allure of AA with the 3D slider down is wooing me), and I don't think the framerate's dipped below 45fps at all with 3D on and I'm 12 hours in. Not having the d-pad on the bottom screen thanks to the nipple means I get even more breathing room up top, but too bad it sucks for MGS3D compared to the CPP since its analog range is so tiny. I almost never use the ZR/ZL buttons, placement is pretty shit and they don't do much for most games anyway. The system not having to reboot every time you close 4U or Smash is nice too (and I'm certain that more first party games down the road will rape the standard 3DS's CPU/RAM similarly).

The n3DS version looks great, but the only thing holding me back from buying it is the lack of supprt for the MH4 Slide Pad. I've been playing MH with it for a few months, and it just feels great. I tried playing on my friends n3DS, and the C-Nipple feels worse, and it doesn't have the range the Slide Pad has to quicker and more accurate aiming. I'll definitively would like to play with the nicer textures, but I don't feel it's worth the loss of having full camera control on one hand, freeing my other hand to focus on attacks.

I'm having a ton of fun with the Insect Glaive, but as fun as it is to use it makes me feel like I'm playing on easy mode.
It's not just the fact that being able to leap is a huge advantage and all of its attacks are flurries, but there's also so few models that it feels like it was made to rush through the game without having to worry too much about gathering materials.
I'm not saying it's a cakewalk, but it also makes the game somewhat less busy, even though it's quite a complex weapon when it comes to feeding the bug and collecting the essences to power you up.

Because it's a port from 3DS assets (which where converted from the surprisingly good tri models to bloated origami models for the 3DS). In the meantime they didn't bother fixing up the lighting to scale properly with the resolution, which lead to wonky lighting and normal mapping. Basically all they did was doll up the textures on the monsters and some environmental things.

Chainmail is, if you ask me, the best set you can have untill high if you want to speed through. The bonus to health and stamina depletion is better than most things. You can easily reach the 50+ hp with it too.
