Gotta beat DmC again before I play Vergil's Downfall.
Beat it on PC but didn't have the DLC then got DmC Definitive on Xbone and I want to complete the main campaign again before I do the DLC.

I thought it was a ton of fun, Vergil was an overall improvement from his DMC3 incarnation and while the girls were under developed I think there's a lot of potential in both of them.

I have thought about that a lot.
I mean if he can take bullets to the head and swords through the chest, i don't see reason why he shouldn't be able to rengen limbs.

I would imagine that limbs are no issue, if internal organs don't matter at all in hurting him. The start of every game has him getting stabbed/shot, so starting a game by dismembering him is likely just a tickle as were previous "injuries".

I don't think he can regenerate limbs, but I think that if he lost an arm, for an example, he could just pick it up and put it back together like Armstrong did in MGR.
I want to see a gap bridger between DMC 4 and 2 that explains how the hell Dante got the super devil trigger, and why his mood changed so much.
Then again they might just ignore DMC 2 existing.
Entirely hopeless dream is DMC 2 getting remade for the most part but keeping the overall setting and story, but with no repeat bosses and better movesets / weapons for both characters.

I liked that they incorporated Swordmaster and Gunslinger moves into the base moveset instead of making me switch styles to them.

Some moderately boring rehash of DMC3 or 4.
Which is what most people want, I suppose. Honestly I just want Itsuno or whatever to take the mechanics and make a new IP with them, like Kamiya did.
Though a Sparda-focused game would be interesting, provided they made him into that intimidating figure and not another Dante clone.

Yes, but there's a good reason that cutscene Dante isn't the one you play. Being able to tank hits like it's nothing would aggressively reduce the amount of investment you have in reading enemy telegraphs.

replayed DMC3 with the newest version of the style switcher mod, I had several problems with stuttering before but now it worked flawlessly even with the bgm working
was always my favorite game and it still is
but there is something I never did before and now I'm trying to do the impossible, getting SS-rank on every mission including DMD

The only reason Dante didn't talk much in 2 was some producer didn't like his jokes in the first game. The trauma thing was a half-assed excuse they came up with later (source: 3142 Graphic Arts).
