All memeing aside is this actually a good game? It's on sale right now and I'm wondering if I should pick it up. If not worth $8 is it worth a pirate at least?
Pro
>has a lot of personality and thought put into it
>creative breaking of the 4th wall
>battle system about dodging attack from enemies like in a shooter is interessing
>short
>good music
>i really really liked the final boss
Bad
>while the character have personality, whenever you find it obnoxious or charming kinda depends on you, one of the character personality is that of an obnoxious social inept weeaboo and the game will beat you in the head with it over and over with ebin jokes like "DO YOU THINK ANIME IS REAL???"
>the internet is a sucker for anything that breaks the 4th wall and gaming convention and will suck it's cock regarding the rest of the content
>battle tends to be slow paced because you have to dodge all the attack that the enemy throws at you
>easy as fuck outside of a super secret boss
>most of the game is spent solving boring easy puzzles that you'd expect to find in a nintendo game
>game has a moral system but it's not explained really well and honestly it feels like it's played for cheap feels since most of it can be summed to "YOU KILLED X, YOU BASTARD!"
>short
>bad graphics outside of battles
it's not bad but because of the way it breaks the 4th wall, it leaves a bigger impression on the player so everyone shill more than it deserves, outside of that a good chunk of your playtime is spent solving boring puzzles and defeating easy enemies, it's only when you get into fight with bosses that the game actualy shine, that would make it sounds horrible but as i said since the game is pretty short, bosses makes like 70% of the game
i like to compare the game to the stanley parable, that game was literaly "PICK A OR B" but it broke the 4th wall and gaming convention so OOPS! BEST GAME EVER!

pirate it, leave the thread and play right now.
i pirated but bought it within 30 minutes of playing
It's a psudo bullet hell game with an RPG covering, some great music and fun characters, and a memorable story line. If those things appeal to you, then sure, it's worth it. If not then just give it a pirate.
Its gucci shit with accessible humor, more of a feel fuzzy kind of game than anything substancial, but its good, otherwise shitposters wouldn't try so hard.
It ain't for everybody, and I prefer Lisa to be honest, but if ya want it, go for it.

What's the average length of this game?
It's worth a pirate but I'm not sure I'd pay more than like 6 bucks for it.
>>321089361
Got a lot of the points right but forgot to mention the genocide run, which has a couple extra bosses that are at least not snooze-fest levels of easy, and it changes a lot of the game. Overall though it's nothing special and is mostly paraded around because of lesbians/gays and 4th wall breaking.
Bitchin' soundtrack though.
Not even worth a pirate.
>>321089127
in my opinion it wasn't
i played it for 30 minutes, found it boring
>>321089127
>HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEY VEEEEEEE SHUD I PLAY TIHS GEAMMME?????????????????????????????????
Get the fuck out of here
It's a 4 hour game, judge it for yourself you pathetic waste of space, you've wasted more time jerking off to niggers fucking goats
>>321089713
a few hours per route
3 routes total
>>321089713
3-4 hours but you can probably squeeze it to 5-6 if you go for both endings
It's a good game. It's not goty, but it's in my top 5. Fanbase is like 80% cancer. Anti-fanbase is just as bad, if not worse. I'd say it's worth 8 bucks. It's neither as good or as bad as most of the idiots on this board will tell you.
Its my goty and AAA offerings, while not all bad, dissapointed in comparison to the simple fun I had playing this. Take that as you will.
You can download the game from fucking mega if you like.

I love how people try to look for such deeper meanings behind Undertale when really it boils down to Toby not giving a fuck.

Its not Toby, but Dingaling the creator of Lisa is also based as fuck, even had tumblur whales cry on stream over how offensive it was while he just retweets wrestling shit.
>>321093424
I'd ling his ding.
>>321093424
Was Lisa worth playing? Saw a bit of gameplay and wasn't sure what to make of it.
>>321089127
Buy it
Beat it within the refund time limit
If you enjoyed it, then keep it
Otherwise refund it
easy
>>321094216
Imagine a more traditional turn based rpg with a considerably darker setting and a emphasis on meaningfull sacrifice and going to the end of your journey, no matter what.
I prefer it to Undertale, but ya never know. If what I said sounds good, maybe try it out, wouldn't hurt to try it.

I feel sorry for Toby.

Angry people nitpicking on the internet is an inevitability for any developer putting their work out there.
Undertale still did really well all things considered.

8 hours generally, plus another 2 for the "pacifist" ending.
Genocide mode is typically 2-3 hours because the game streamlines itself quite a bit. Might take a lot longer if you get dunked on by the bosses.

> TEG: Although I wouldn’t place UNDERTALE in the “post-apocalyptic” genre, there is a real feeling of wandering through a world in the aftermath of a cataclysm. Why have video games and art in general become so obsessed with the end of the world, and where would you place humanity on the spectrum from “no end in sight” to “it’s already happened, dude”?

What kind of question is that?
