I remember i first got C1, and while i couldnt manually lead the dumb fucks, they would always follow the bouncing ball. So i'd split norns into pairs and lock them down in safer areas so they breed and dont fucking die. And dying was a common issue considering how much the liked to eat poisionous shit off the plants.
I eventually found and bought C3, and later pirated it with the addon. I remember making a simple contraption that would lock the asshole grendels in a far-off isolated area so they cant do shit.

I remember there was a campaign-only structure on one of the screenshots on the back of the disc case, and my faggot friend told me it actually becomes available in skirmish if you accumulate 1 million resources.
I left the game running overnight, but it didnt unlock even though i acccumulated loads of resources. ;_;
