This was a pretty good CoD
Visually it was probably ~Crysis 3 level, but the art design was actually spot on. Mechanically it had some standout features like miniboss bottles with the mech suits, enemy tiers, two good stealth levels, and some okay rail/unrailed vehicle sections. It obviously could have been so much cooler if the level design wasn't walk forward and you could choose paths with the grapple/mag grips.
Multiplayer is also fun.

At that point, I wouldn't be surprised if the player unlocked an achievement/trophy right after that.

CoD has tried time and time again to create a 'drama' moment in every iteration. Since MW1 they've tried to catch the lightning in a bottle that was tragedy of war.
MW1 had the place being nuked and all your friends die, which was genuinely emotional as you experienced it in first person. There was a lot of tension throughout that entire missions and seeing the character you played for hours labelled as 'deceased' on a cold, sterile surveillance system just reinforced how frivoulous you are to a burgeoning war machine before it immediately moves you on to the next character. It's not deep, but it worked.
MW2 had shooting up civilians in an airport, this wasn' effective in the least because A) you can choose not to and B) Shooting nameless NPC's does absolutely nothing emotionally.
After that it was bombing a city of people and watching a kid die. Again, absolute nobodys that were pushed in your face and your supposed to feel something especially considering there was no build up or even much of a reason as to why it was bombed.
This is just CoD's attempt to do it again, this time bring you back down to a personal level. However they completely blundered by making it a goddamn button prompt and an 'objective complete' to hang up afterwards. The prompt makes it seem like just another scripted action sequence and the 'objective complete' breaks all immersion by just chalking it up on the checklist of 'shit to do this level'.
Like imagine if you had a fucking to-do list that said "pick up kids, wash car, go groceries, mourn dead best friend", how ridiculous does that sound to you?
