It's not a contest, and you've missed too many great games off the PS1 list like Suikoden 2, Brave Fencer Musashi and Bushido Blade.
The only reason it's ever discussed is that there's a handful of very autistic Nintendrones here upset they missed out on the PS1 as a child.
People forget 1 thing. Gmaes on the fucking PS1 were easy as shit to pirate which means children had actually something to play while you were stuck with 0 games on a nintendo console because parents would rather pirate 3-4 games instead of buying 1.

Most of those PS1 games aren't worth playing nowadays. They were good at the time but now they're considered mediocre. The N64 games usually have good gameplay that still holds up well to this day. Also you forgot F-Zero X, Banjo Tooie, Kirby 64, Sin & Punishment, Paper Mario, Mario Tennis and a few other N64 games.

It's called The Playstation. PS for short and PS1 for short when the PS2 came out.
PSX is the name of the prototype for the Playstation. Magazines picked it up and it stucked to many children's heads for some reason.
Later on it was used to categorise PS1 and PS2 games at torrent sites into one category.
The only real world product that is called PSX is a DVR PS2 machine they made exclusively in Japan. It's UI birthed the comfy as fuck XMB.
PS1 is the right term, but if you want to go with PSX then go right ahead. People know what you mean.
How about Grandia for PS1? It was on Saturn or something, but no one played it on there.
PS1 had a better single player experience while N64 has a better multiplayer experience. Both were excellent for gaming.

Turok 2 was very impressive for its time, especially on the N64, since it made use of the expansion pack, had very good graphics and a lot of voice acting. The weapons and level design was very good as well.
It may have been surpassed by other games, but it deserves a spot on a best-of N64 games, just maybe not near the top.
Pokemon Stadium is a fucking amazing party game. The rest of the game can be considered optional content

Do you need coke bottle glasses by any chance? The only thing the N64 does well is the 3D rendering. The actual models and textures absolutely fucking suck in every single game thanks to the 64 MB cartridge limit.

I'm a nostalgafag, so I would tell you Wild Arms 1 over 2, but I'm sure most people will say 2 over 1. I kinda just say go for Wild Arms 2.
Battles are average paced. Its just the basic turn based combat in most RPG's of the 90's. The music is really good. The story and characters are a mixed bag. WA1 had great characters with an ok story while WA2 had a much better story but meh characters.
As far as other RPG's on PSN goes, I'd highly recommend Grandia. Its probably more linear as fuck then Xenogears, but you will fall in love with these characters.
