It's a god tier weapon. I got the black knight greatsword on my first playthrough, that was great fun to use.
Also been playing Demons Souls recently, it's not as good as DaS, most of the bosses have been really shitty, all the Valley of Defilement and Shrine of Storms and Stonefang arch were crap. Not sure why people love the game so much.

Halberds are neat. I used the basic halberd and gargoyle's halberd up past Anor Londo in NG+1 and never thought twice.
I don't know why people say the BK weapons are lucky drops to get early on when you can get the Zweihander right from the start and it's just as trivialising
