The lack of GO FAST. Lilac can achieve decent speed with her boost, but the other two can't go even remotely fast. Even then, Lilac can only really go fast when going down a hill or using her boost.
The physics. When Carol's bike can just cling to walls, just walking up walls, jumping into ceilings to stick to them, and so on, it looks kinda stupid.
The story. Oh God that shitfest. I don't need to explain further.
The dev support. It's been since July, and not a single word has been said about the guaranteed updates (from Kickstarter's stretch goals).
The bugs. There's a ton of bugs, ranging from falling through floors to crashing the game. They're still not fixed.

Stages are long for no good reason, though you can breeze through them once you know the lay of the land because there's no collision damage.
You can walk into any enemy on the screen and not take damage, so long as they're not attacking.
The running is retarded though. Remember how Sonic 4 was shit because you could walk the loops? You can do that here too, but they claim that was intentional.
Some of the sprites look unfinished. There are character that completely lack shading, and certain sprites that, if you look for it, aren't properly shaded either.
All in all, it's okay, but feels incomplete and fanfic-y. Not worth buying at full price, in my opinion.
This and Megabyte Punch were both god-tier multiplayer games.

I believe it is intentional since the previous builds given to the kickstarter players are up for download on their site allowing you to play early builds on stage 1. Funny thing is, their early builds had the physics set the way it's supposed to be. It wasn't till they got on the final build it started to be more like Sonic 4.

ATS has a soundtrack with more composers and production value and thus I find myself listening to it a little more than BTS. Still both OSTs are on an insane level and rival SEGA's own composers.
For the gameplay, ATS is similar and the emeralds are obtained the same way, however the game has additional special levels for each area if you choose Classic mode. The special levels are unlocked by touching the special rings found in one act for each zone, and are by far the hardest part. Although there is a youtube vid showing the locations.
I personally enjoyed Chrono adventure more because I'm a fan of Metroidvania games. The game basically has no levels and is fully open world but well structured. It has the best story of all three and the level design really shows how creative the dev is when not bound by the sonic classic formula. It really made me want a real "Metronicvania" game from Sega, which will never happen.

The difference between this and Sly was that Sly was its own thing with lovable characters and fun gameplay. Freedom Planet advertised itself as a Sonic-like platformer, and that kind of platformer is often momentum-based. Seeing as momentum barely factors into the level design and physics and makes it feel like Sonic 4, that's pretty fucking bad.
