Shotguns are the worst weapon in any FPS I have ever played. They are slow to fire and reload, have horrible range and are completely inaccurate beyond melee range. They are a crutch for baddies.
That said, the shottys is Wolfenstein TNO are pretty fun to use. They are full auto, fast to load, you can dual wield the things and their upgrades and alt fires are quite pleasing in close quarters.

Anyways, good vidya shotguns? As someone who own several shotguns, I can say that they are incredibly rare.
The ones that come to mind are Killing Floor shotguns, Payday 1 Reinfield and Payday 2 beta/release Reinfield+Mosconi, annnd Hotline Miami
It is pretty sad, I love shotguns but in games they always seem to be limited to extremely close ranges, which is unrealistic as fuck. Shotguns with your basic buckshot can be lethal up to 100 meters easily.
