It was a neat concept but the execution was total ass. On higher difficulties that shit just felt broken. And don't even get me started on the Great Maze.

Those cutscenes made up for it though.

Dude I was a little preteen when this came out and I loved this game just for the story. After I finished the story for the second time I just went back to melee for multiplayer. Not a tourneyfag, but I just liked the way melee felt more.

The gameplay was pretty bland and that final level was pure bullshit. I also disliked the fact that 90% of the enemies were OC and not from the various character's series. It would have been much better with that kind of shit. Tabuu was a pretty fun boss fight though, and I liked the idea of bosses in general.

Too bad spoilerfags ruined it for everyone. I didn't think it needed to be taken out, but just improved. Seeing all those Nintendo characters together was amazing and it had some great moments. If they made a combination of Melee's adventure mode and SSE, it would be amazing. I'm still hoping for at least something like that in the Wii-U version to make up for no smash run.

I played it with a friend at launch. It was a fucking chore and I've never played a game where I wanted the gameplay to be over so I could see the next cutscene.

Cutscenes were great, levels were alright, camera only following one player is annoying considering the game is built on a camera that tracks a lot of shit at once.

I liked it, lots of eye candy and it was really cool seeing them interact with each other. Some of the scenes were really cool too. Like Peach and Shiek sipping tea on an airship. I dont know why some people hated it so much, it was just a fun single player experience, something fighting games are doing more and more of.

I don't think that was a problem at all. The only problem was the fact that the gameplay was sorta bland due to the lazy level design, linearity, poor enemy design, and lack of mechanics unique to the story mode. Bosses were pretty tight though.

The idea of the Smash characters riding a bus to the stadium sounds fun, but without anymore detail, I'm happy we got SSE.

Having those short videos showcasing the new characters and the others interacting is really cool, more akin to Melee's opening.
And they were all revealed slowly to us. Directs, E3s, suprise streams... It was wonderful.

My favourite is still the Rosalina one because it has the best character interactions out of all the videos, but the Little Mac, Robin and Shulk (synchronized Marth/Link attack was fucking badass) were also pretty good.

I actually got Brawl BECAUSE of SSE, so I greatly enjoyed it (and I played through it twice).

The factory levels are the only ones I despised, the Great Labyrinth at the end wasn't as bad as people painted it but I'll admit it was sort of dull.

In fact, I think that I enjoyed SSE more than the multiplayer battles in Brawl.
