For the record, I'm not an ideas guythe only idea I would like at all is a few changes, and that the final boss be a mirror match to Vivian.. It's relevant to bug testing and voice acting. I might be able to draw a little too but that will have to depend.

I always thought that the victory jingle in OOT was very melancholic, but added a lot to the atmosphere.

I'm still around! I got sick, so I slept more than usual. Also, I've been working more than posting. I did see the thread from last night, and saved the two sound clips that our music guy posted on Vocaroo. Will probably use one of them in the upcoming scene.
Currently I'm working on a cutscene that follows the boss battle (pic related), and in chaining together the boss battle with vivtest.swf via a new area. If I can make THAT work, it'll also form the basis of the save system.

Yeah - the game's been in development for a week or so at this point. Originally, the game was just an endless loop, but after Matt punched the fridge (and made a post about how punching fridges achieves nothing), I added a fridge blocking the way along with a message saying that if you attacked it with /v/.
In the following update the fridge was removed so you could reach Ridley.

Keep up the good work man, game overall seems pretty fun and solid. I'll point out if no one else has yet, that on the boss you can fairly easily exploit him by using the bait grapple up to his face and hit him a few times as you fall and he never attacks besides sending out a few smaller enemies.
Looking forward to a more complete game though.

That boss fight was actually pretty good. For the final version, you should add more ranged attacks. The only way to kill the boss is to use the Pasta, and that took a while.

Thanks. I'm contemplating giving him one more attack to balance it out a tiny bit more (launching missiles from his chest compartment which home in on your current location, making it less safe to stay in one place), but I think he's basically OK.
In the actual game, you probably won't have the Bait when you fight him, but he's programmed to react to it in case we add a New Game + or boss rush or something.

I just noticed something weird with the morph ball. If you're using the bait hook to leap your way across to land on the powerup platform, and if you keep holding up with bait out even as you're falling down, and once you hit the powerup, Vivian will do this weird arm flail thing as she's trying to take out the hook.

As for a mirror match, I wasn't thinking of it as the final boss, but I was definitely considering using Gilda as something like that, with her having equivalents to all Vivian's weapons and you having to use all your skills to defeat her.
But if you want a real Vivian vs Vivian battle, I'm sure that can be arranged too! Again, I'm trying to get the game easy enough to mod that anyone can add to it.

Flash can't natively support controllers, but I'll try and add a custom key configuration to help your problem (if you assign jump/attack keys to keys like shift, it should allow you to press them in combination with other keys.)
A workaround for controller support is to get Joy2Key (google it).

Yeah, I was wondering if there was any distinct Reddit-flavoured pasta that Gilda could shoot instead of Navy Seals.
I had a tentative idea about Upboat/Downboat being a weapon that could be used to manipulate gravity (fitting for Gilda's "alien" concept, and Vivian would be able to steal it). Using Up would make you lighter and able to jump higher - using down would make you heavier and do more damage, unable to be knocked back.
But I might be overthinking things.
